I'm Karen, also known to friends by Kazza.

I am a fellow contributor to the page and I specialize in all things UNI! Not really, but I know my fair share whether it be from trial and error or research!
As a contributor I aim to help you all with information that will help prevent you from being confused or struck cold with confusion at uni.

I am always growing and educating myself in ways to tackle this university life that so many of us live. I hope I can give you some helpful tips and encourage each and every one of you reading our blog to take up a degree and commit your heart and soul to it! You won't regret uni life, especially at MQU!

Let's get down to the basics:
I'm in my 2nd year of Commerce, majoring in human resources.
My 3 units this semester are:
  1. ISYS100 (I.T unit, relatively easy, a so-called planet unit required by MQU students)
  2. FRN119 (French basics, comment allez vous?)
  3. HRM250 (one of my majors, involving recruitment and selection)
I began my life at Macquarie university in one of the partner colleges associated with the uni, SIBT (Sydney Institute of Business and Technology). I made a few friends there and ultimately broadened my perspective into how culturally diverse this country is becoming and how lucky we are. SIBT is an international college where many of the students are on a student visa who have left their families to study abroad. It also provided me with an exceptionally large debt lingering over my head which I often forget about (thanks FEE-HELP!)

I made a lot of awkward decisions regarding university, I deferred a year from UWS (int'l business) and I also cancelled my listing in ACPE in Dance Education. I eventually started working and found myself craving education again. This is where I found MQU and began my journey in commerce. The life at MQU is unbelievably relaxed, social and there's never a reason to be bored or to find yourself with nothing to do at university.

I hope you aren't expecting me to list any of my aspirations or dream jobs in my life, I am one of those, go-with-the-flow types of people. I have had many opinions given to me about careers after university, and 99.99% of my advice-givers have told me that your career will change at least 3-5 times in your lifetime after uni. I'm hoping the last one involves the title of Millionaire... give or take a Multi or two.

Thanks for reading, and if you've skipped to the bottom, thanks for skipping!

Karen :)
