Hey everyone,
My name is Tharinda, but my friends call me TP because they can't pronounce it and the fact that Sri Lankan names are quite long.
My name is Tharinda, but my friends call me TP because they can't pronounce it and the fact that Sri Lankan names are quite long.
I came to Australia about 5 years ago and since, I did my HSC and I am currently in my fourth year at Macquarie studying Engineering, majoring in Telecommunications. If you want to visualise it, just think, how satallites and phones communicate.
I am currently enrolled into four units this semester, which are - ELEC260, ELEC345, COMP347 and ISYS100. My favourite units which I have undertaken thus far at uni are ISYS300, ELEC345 and COMP347. Even though they are quite challenging, they are one of the three most interesting units I have taken.
I am one of the four contributors to the page, and I enjoy my time at uni very much. I guess it's because things won't be the same once I am out so I try to take every opportunity which I get. I enjoy reading atricles about technology, news and I enjoy both playing and watching dota2.
I want to travel the world, experience different cultures and get out of my comfort zone. I aspire to someday work for Optus' Satelliete center atleast for a few years. Where I would then hope to work in different areas such as engineering and IT project management. I guess the end goal is to someday finish my Masters and be able to get a job in a management position. As for now, it's time to set up a plan to see how I can achieve it.
